Thank you for sharing your excitement ..

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal lie." (John 3:16)
Rainforest VBS 2010

Deerfield Lutheran Church ELCA held their annual Vacation Bible School from July 28th through August 1st. Thanks to gardener Bill Holland the church was transformed into a rain forest for thirty something three year olds through third graders from our community to explore the Bible in a rain forest setting. There were lots of hands to help these young rain forest explorers grow in their spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ. Jennifer Lees and Jennifer Brattlie planned and organized the entire five days with Jane Holland doing music each day. Debbie Haberkorn prepared delicious meals for our hungry explorers and was our lead baby holder. Jessie and Jim Haak planned and led our adventure games. Brent Braatlie and Justin Lees helped with food and errands. The young explorers were guided by a dedicated team of adults and youth volunteers who assisted with crafts, skits, games and music. These extra special helpers were: Jodi Fisher, Jess Steen, Rick Holland, Brandon Lemke, Dan Steen, Alison Moerke, Samantha Amman, Rachel Amman, and Rachel Lokken. During worship on Sunday, August 1st the explorers shared what they had discovered as they retold Jesus' parables of the Lost Sheep, the Good Samaritan, and the Sower through music and drama. Following worship everyone got to enjoy some tasty treats as they explorers shared their amazing crafts with their parents and worshipers. The adventure will continue when Sunday School resumes in September!
